The dalit chief minister, Mayawati is channeling huge state funds into making statutes of herself with her mentor, Kashi Ram all across Lucknow. These expensive statues made of 8 different minerals are yet to be revealed. Mayawati had order one of statues to be broken down as it was 'shorter' than the statue of her mentor, Kanshi Ram. The state capital, Lucknow looks like a big construction site and the entire city is given a facelift with stones. Construction is on full swing and migrant labourers come to work from Rajasthan and rural parts of Uttar Pradesh.
