The resident of Gona village, Surati Devi is an admirer of BSP candidate, Mukhtar Ansari. Since getting as many votes as possible is the agenda of any of the parties in UP, Mayawati's party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) has given the tickets to criminals who have enough clout in their region. One such, Mukhtar Ansari is in jail for the past 3 years and is awaiting trails for more than two dozen alleged crimes, including murder. Inspite of being in jail, he is in touch with his loyalists and contesting for elections from jail itself. He has a stature of a modern day Robin Hood.
